Program:
Neuroleadership Development:  A Brain-based Approach to Organizational Success | Relax, Renew, Reset.

Did you get to hear David Rock speak on neuroleadership at the 2011 CBODN conference? He described how recent findings about the brain are contributing to what we know about leadership development. Are you looking forward to the 2012 CBODN conference on “Shifting Organizations from Reactive to Resilient by Cultivating Human Potential”?  It will be an opportunity to discover how developing resiliency can significantly expand individual and organization potential and possibilities.

If you’re interested in neuroleadership or resiliency, then please join neuroleadership coach Suzanne Kryder to continue building your knowledge base and tool kit in these two fields. You’ll learn about mindful leadership---a sub-specialty of neuroleadership---that teaches leaders a scientifically validated brain-based tool for resiliency by keeping the mind calm and concentrated.
  • Practice three brain-based skills for training your mind to be less reactive in challenging situations, improving your communication skills, and staying resilient on the job or in graduate school.
  • Describe basic structures and functions in the brain that help leaders overcome distraction and regain mental focus.
  • Understand why your brain reacts so quickly with anger or anxiety to some work and graduate school situations.
  • Use the executive center of your brain to calm your nervous system down and return to neutral in ten seconds.
  • Learn how to handle resistance during a challenging conversation.
About the Presenter:

As one of the few mindful leadership coach/trainers, Suzanne’s passion is helping leaders develop a non-confrontational leadership style called Calm, Confident Power. She helps leaders train the mind to notice with precision what’s happening internally and externally, so they can consistently influence others and create lasting change.

Suzanne is the author of the book, The Mind to Lead: Coaching for Calm, Confident Power.

As a mindful leadership coach, trainer, and a graduate of Corporate Coach University, Suzanne has helped a variety of clients in the public and private sectors become more effective.

She has a Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico, an M.S. from George Washington University, and a B.S. from the University of Georgia.

Dr. Kryder's background in mindfulness distinguishes her from other neuroleadership consultants. She has practiced mindfulness (also known as Insight or Vipassana) meditation since 1985. She’s done a total of more than 12 months of silent retreat practice including long retreats at Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts as well as a three-week retreat at the Kyaswa Monastery outside Mandalay, Burma.

Suzanne is certified to teach mindfulness courses as a Community Dharma Leader through Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California. As a result of her mindfulness practice and training, she created the neuroleadership development system that's taught in the unique Mind to Lead mindful leadership retreats.

Suzanne is the author of Dreaded Conversations at Work: From Conflict to Collaboration, an ebook on reducing the dread and delay of difficult conversations. You can listen to her coach or download a free copy of the ebook.
