OD Book Discussion CoP - "American Icon: Alan Mulally and the Fight to Save Ford Motor Company" by Bryce Hoffman

Topic: "American Icon: Alan Mulally and the Fight to Save Ford Motor Company" by Bryce Hoffman

Session Description:  Come to this discussion to learn how Alan Mulally turned around a Ford Motor Company already hemorrhaging cash when the bottom dropped out of the American financial and auto markets both in the historic crash of 2008. Discuss how aspects of Mulally’s leadership style, strategic planning, and management tactics can apply to your executive and organizational clients. And share how you have used great leadership stories like this to inspire and guide leaders through periods of extreme challenge.

Facilitator:  Chris Westbrook is a career analyst and manager who took a right turn into talent development after September 11, 2001. She served on a task force that modernized her agency’s talent management and development, leading the creation of the agency’s first leadership model. She also helped lead the agency’s largest hiring surge in history, obtained a second graduate degree in Human Resource Development, certified in multiple leadership and personality assessments, and now manages a foreign-language school.
