Session—"Supporting Clients Facing Adversity?" Federal funding cuts and shifting policies are creating adversity for many businesses and nonprofits in the DMV region. As economic pressures grow, leaders and employees may face uncertainty, stress, and reduced motivation—affecting organizational performance across sectors. This session explores how consultants can help clients manage adversity, not just with resilience, but with practical strategies rooted in organizational development, coaching, and psychology. Drawing on 40+ years of experience, the presenter will share tools to support clients in navigating challenges, maintaining balance, and finding growth amidst disruption. Presenter: Valerie Graff
Valerie has supported leaders and managers in navigating the complexity they face in leading their organizations effectively. She conducts trainings and workshops on these topics, as well as others. Valerie has experience both as a leader and consultant in successfully guiding organizations toward results despite adverse circumstances. Valerie has co-researched and co-authored articles on leadership published for audiences in the fields of human resource management and organization development, and led workshops on the topic. |

Valerie Graff has over 40 years of experience in leadership positions and consulting with senior-level executives in nonprofit organizations and government agencies. She works with organizations in the areas of strategic planning, team building, and board development, as well as facilitating meetings to improve communication, collaboration, partnerships, and planning.
