Session"Skills, Stories, and Systems: Employee Growth in the AI Era"

As AI reshapes the workplace, leaders face growing pressure to understand workforce skills and bridge gaps in a strategic, human-centered way. Traditional skills taxonomies have fallen short, but emerging agentic AI tools are transforming how we approach learning and development.

This session explores how Skills Intelligence, Storytelling, and Systems Thinking are enabling more personalized, scalable growth. Participants will learn how to leverage AI to identify skill gaps, support upskilling, and inspire resilient learning cultures—moving beyond metrics to foster meaningful, future-ready development.

Presenter: Patrick Gallen

Patrick Gallen is an OD practitioner and strategist with over 15 years of experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives across high-tech and non-profit sectors. He specializes in aligning people, processes, and technology to drive measurable, scalable change.

Patrick is the co-founder of Gather Works LLC and serves as Director of Innovation and Senior People Scientist at HRIZONS EX, where he helps organizations improve performance through strategic workforce management. He is also a Principal at IntelliVen, applying the "Manage to Lead" system to build leadership capability and organizational effectiveness.

His background includes roles at Synopsys, Cigital, and United Way Worldwide, as well as board leadership with the Information Technology Survey Group (ITSG). He currently serves on the board of CBODN.

Patrick holds a Master’s in Organization Development from American University and is passionate about helping organizations thrive by unlocking the collective power of their people - building the technologies, processes, and capabilities needed to succeed today and thrive into the future.
