Engage with one another, develop knowledge and skills, share expertise, and contribute to our community.

Interested in becoming more involved in CBODN?  

We are seeking volunteers related to three areas within CBODN. One or more of these opportunities may be right for you if you have some time and talent to contribute to our community. 

1. CBODN 2024 Conference Planning

  • Who doesn't love a great conference? Each year, the CBODN Annual Conference represents the largest in-person gathering of DC’s regional community of OD professionals.
  • Volunteer to plan, coordinate, or deliver the conference on June 22, 2024.
  • Consider volunteering for one or more of these activities:

o Organize the team by coordinating notes/actions in recurring planning meetings

o Outreach to vendors and partners to finance the event

o Agenda development, e.g., coordinating with speakers or OD Event design

o Marketing and advertising through mail lists and social media

o Conference logistics and refining the details for a polished event

o "Day of" volunteers to support setup, logistics, registration, etc.

2. Membership Committee Participation

  • Our strength is in our Membership. Volunteer for this committee if you are interested in drawing together people across the greater DC, MD, VA area who are working across the full range of OD and Coaching disciplines.
  • Consider volunteering for one or more of these activities:

o Facilitating new member Meet & Greets

o Analyzing membership data for participation and retention trends and patterns

o Outreach to current and lapsing CBODN members


3. Technology Support for Online Events

  • Blend the Art of OD with the Science of Tech. We need volunteers to provide rotating support for our monthly CBODN webinar series.
  • Consider volunteering for supporting online events, which includes:

o Facilitating Zoom sessions for guest presenters to be able to focus on their content

o Helping CBODN members realize great online session using today's tech

o Managing files, slides, attachments, etc., to share the content before the sessions end

o Facilitating break-out rooms and other Zoom features
  • Volunteers need to be able to reliably attend scheduled events.
  • Familiarity with Zoom required. Great opportunity to develop experience as a technical producer for online meeting facilitation.
