CBODN: SIGs - Government Agencies

The CBODN Government Practitioners SIG

The mission of this SIG is to provide the opportunity through monthly SIG meetings for both internal and external consultants to share best OD practices, trends and policies in the public sector - federal, state and local governments. We hold ourselves accountable as life long learners in the field to contribute to the future growth and knowledge of government and public sector OD practices.

That being said, getting together - even monthly - has its challenges. We are located across the Washington DC area including the Maryland and Virginia suburbs. Selecting an amicable date, time and most important location has negatively impacted attendance. So, we now operate in a virtual forum. We conduct monthly lunchtime conference calls on the 4th Wednesday of every month with different members taking the lead for the topics, materials and even facilitation for the call. We are a small and supportive group.

We've found that our work in the public sector requires not only alignment with many of the other functional areas but frequent consultation with each other for an exchange of ideas. It's rewarding to know that we're not alone in this work and our fellow practitioners encourage sharing of tools, techniques and results. Please plan on joining us.
