Chesapeake Bay Organization Development Network
CBODN: SIGs - Baltimore Area SIG

Baltimore/Washington Corridor SIG

This group meets on the second Friday of each month from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for the express purpose of engaging in a dialogue regarding contemporary issues in the field of OD. We are a cross-section of professionals – internal consultants, external consultants, veterans, and “newbies” who work in all types of industries including professional, government, and non-profit. Our goal is to connect with those CBODN members that live and work closer to the Baltimore area.

We meet at the Howard Community College in Columbia, Md., in the Instructional Laboratory Building, Room 229.

For further information, contact Bob Martin at (410) 795-6657 or bob@rm3enterprises.com.

The Baltimore-Washington SIG is about to undergo a change in leadership.

For the past four plus years, Bob Martin has been the chair of the group and has decided the time it right to step down.  As he does that, we have a new chair stepping up - Cherie Beck.  Let's welcome Cherie as she assumes the leadership of the group to build on the history while strengthening the value to the membership.  Here's what Cherie has to say about the change:

I am excited to be given an opportunity as the next chair for the Baltimore/Washington CBODN SIG to share my ideas, experiences and strategies toward the change I see wants to happen inside of this group.  I think OD as field of study, practice and expertise, is ready for a significant leap toward becoming a dynamic and adaptive capability network, where each member in an explicitly weaved set of connections and relationship adds and receives value from the aggregation of competencies found in the people performing OD work today.

This leap, it seems to me, is now possible in a world where the power of network dynamics is more easily engaged and facilitated through the explosion of social media, social technologies, knowledge athletics, and self organizing structures.  What is next for OD consultants is a bit of OD, highly leveraged by past successes, current technology platforms and a compelling vision of the future.

Over the next several months I am prepared to work through a series of activities focused on laying out a vision, educating and modeling the use of new technology, while continuing to learn from an intelligent collective of people who are positioned to have a tremendous impact in the world of business and commerce. Stay tuned for more information, and please do not hesitate to contact me directly with questions, personal interests or to just say hello.
