Resignations are not new nor are the reasons – dissatisfaction or unhappiness with the organization or boss, new opportunities with another employer, or changing career goals. What is new is the intersection of these common reasons for leaving one employer for another and the phenomenon of a shrinking qualified replacement pool of workers. Organizations need to establish a proactive talent mindset whereby all employees are actively involved in staffing related initiatives. This program will explore:
BiographyAnnabelle Reitman has over 35 years experience in career coaching/counseling. She is an established writer for online and print publications, and her latest book is, “Talent Retention”, Infoline Series, (ASTD Press, 2007). She is a career subject matter expert consultant for ASTD. She coordinates Career Voice, the online newsletter of Association of Career Professionals International. Annabelle holds doctorate and master degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University. Format Presentation Lecture will set the stage with a brief summary of trust as a cornerstone for talent retention and the application of the stories to the development of this element. Participants will be led through two storytelling activities to experience the power of stories in establishing trust among a group of people, and one discussion activity to demonstrate the level of bonding that has taken place.
