Topic: Powerfully Agile Thinking:  In-FORM-ation, Trans-FORM-ation and What It Takes to Change the FORM

Facilitator:  Loretta Hobbs PhD

Program:

Ever meet someone whose way of thinking seems so different from your own?  Ever wonder how people consistently hold 'frames of reference' and 'points or view' on different subjects that come from a certain way of thinking?  Ever wonder what it would take for someone to shift to a different 'frame of reference' or 'point of view?'  What would it take for me?

How can the OD practitioner or consultant assist people in a system to (1) break through intransigence and tunnel vision, (2) be mindful that there is likely more to know than one 'point of view', (3) appreciate variety of thought on any given subject, (4) discuss and engage others with more depth, understanding, and regard for the values that may underlie a different way of thinking?

OD practitioners and consultants have exceptional tools and theories to impact such cases. We just have to know that it takes more than new information to create a transformation.  It takes a shift in the FORM.
