Join us for CBODN's Annual Conference to be held on Friday March 7, 2008. The conference will be held at the prestigious George Washington University Cafritz Conference Center in the Marvin Center, which is close to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station.

Our theme for the 2008 conference is "Engagement in Action: When Vision Becomes Organizational Reality." The conference will provide the opportunity for participants to examine new possibilities for their practices, whether as internal or independent consultants. From this standpoint, the discussions—at the keynote and breakout levels—will be grounded in practical concepts for 21st century practitioners. We will have real time opportunities for dialogue and application of knowledge in the moment as we discuss real life issues confronting our organizations and communities.

This year, we will continue to explore the broader implications of change, so we can expand our frame of reference for thinking about ourselves, our clients, and society. The 2008 conference is, in some respects, a continuation of the discourse Peter Senge initiated during the 2007 conference. Last year, we looked at myriad challenges OD practitioners face as we grapple with unprecedented change at every level.

We have chosen Peter Block, a cornerstone of our industry, as our keynote speaker, because he captures a leading edge perspective. Peter has laid down the gauntlet by challenging organizational consultants to take a stand for what we want to promote in the world. His breakthrough work examining the role of OD supporting change at the community level promotes a powerful translation of large scale dynamics into local and individual imperatives. This is the emergent reality that has captured his imagination. And, it creates another opportunity for a collective examination of our potential to effect change at all levels.

The opportunities for self exploration, exchanging ideas and creating a learning journey will be many. Participants will enjoy an experience that will be challenging and intriguing, provocative and dynamic.
